Thursday 20 March 2025 Year 4 visit the Docklands Museum in London A fantastic day 🌞 on the river and at the Docklands Museum. We added to our knowledge of the History of the Thames and London’s Docks. That included the history of trading and life during wartime. On our boat 🚤 journey we pictured Jim (from Street Child) loading and unloading coal from The Lily 🚤 and living his life on the river. 🙏 to parents and staff who supported this trip.

Wednesday 19 March 2025 Muslim Women of Merton Schools Project Today we welcomed back to Beaumont Rifat and Fareeda from the ‘Muslim Women of Merton Schools Project’. All the classes attended one of their assemblies where they talked to the children about Ramadan and Eid. Rifat and Fareeda explained what Muslims do during the time of Ramadan and how Eid is celebrated. The children asked and answered questions beautifully, as well as participated enthusiastically in the quizzes.

Thursday 13 March 2025 Croydon Wellbeing Mark awarded to Beaumont Primary School The Croydon Wellbeing Mark is awarded to schools who show a commitment to prioritising the wellbeing of their school community. The Wellbeing Mark considers 5 commitments, including: the creation of a pledge, prioritising wellbeing at their school; the completion of an audit to identify areas for development; attending specific CPD linked to wellbeing, the creation of wellbeing champions within the education setting and finally, committing to the completion of local surveys to inform future priorities for the borough. The Croydon Education Partnership is committed to ensuring that those working and attending education establishments are happy, well and able to meet their full potential.

Dear Parents, Carers & Staff,Friends of Beaumont are proud to announce that we have become a Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) and we are making steps towards becoming a registered Charity!We are holding our first DIY Pizza kit event on Friday 28th March! Please use the link below to order your pizzas and desserts and support us, they are easy to make and a fun activity for the whole family. This will be the first time we have sold pizza kits and also the first time we are using PTA events, so we would like your feedback afterwards.Please use your eldest child’s name and class in the Booking Field.The make at home pizza kits will be distributed on the lower playground at 3.10pm on Friday 28th March, last orders are needed by 19th March.All money raised will go towards our new School Library!If your child attends after school clubs or Griffins on Friday, the kits will be handed to them at 3.15pm. Wednesday 5 March 2025 Author Karen Inglis visits Beaumont as part of World Book Day! What an amazing event to celebrate World Book Day for 2025!Thanks go to FOBs for funding this memorable day. The staff have always wanted to welcome an author into our school and for this to come true today was magical. Thursday 30 January 2025 CREW Drama Workshops visit Y5 - Ancient Egyptians Today, Y5 followed on from their recent visit to the British Museum in London with an interactive and immersive drama workshop all based around the Ancient Egyptians. The children were applauded for their behaviour and contributions by the instructor.

Wednesday 29 January 2025 Reedham Trust pays Y4 a visit Many thanks to Posey, from The Reedham Trust, for paying us a visit to explain their role today and how they are continuing the legacy of The Reedham Orphanage and school. History was brought to life through the wonderful artefacts and photographs that she shared with the children. They prepared some interesting questions and showed an excellent knowledge of its history and impact, which we had covered in our history lessons last term. We had this booked in for a December visit but due to illness this had to be cancelled. We are very grateful that the visit could be rearranged.

Monday 27 January 2025 Time Capsule Opens after 25 years! On 14th January 2000, children at Beaumont Primary School made a time capsule which was to be opened 25 years later. On Tuesday, 14th January 2025 was opened in whole school assembly. Inside the box were 5 metal capsules (in 2000, Beaumont only had five classes) a school book bag, a home school agreement, a prospectus and a tea towel that contained all drawings of the children and staff.The first capsule to be opened was Class 2. In this capsule contained photos, stamps, news cuttings, sweet and crisp packets, lottery tickets, receipts, a rail card and a cassette with childrens’ voices on.We excitedly await the opening of further capsules this week. Thursday 23 January 2025 Y5 Trip to British Museum, London Year Five set off for our first trip of 2025 to the famous British Museum in London. We arrived at Purley Station to start our journey to London Victoria. As soon as we had arrived, the children set off for the underground which took us to Warren Street. A short walk to get to the museum to see the wonders of Ancient Egypt!

Thursday 5 December 2024 CSMA Festive Celebration Concert This morning Years 5 and 6 watched 16 dancers from Year 6 perform at Fairfield Halls. As part of their weekly Indian Dancing at school which is taught by Beeja Arts. Their dance represented and celebrated the festivals of Eid and Diwali.
