Wednesday 29 January 2025 Reedham Trust pays Y4 a visit Many thanks to Posey, from The Reedham Trust, for paying us a visit to explain their role today and how they are continuing the legacy of The Reedham Orphanage and school. History was brought to life through the wonderful artefacts and photographs that she shared with the children. They prepared some interesting questions and showed an excellent knowledge of its history and impact, which we had covered in our history lessons last term. We had this booked in for a December visit but due to illness this had to be cancelled. We are very grateful that the visit could be rearranged.

Friday 4 October 2024 Y2 visit to the King's Gallery We had a great trip to London yesterday! The children enjoyed the train ride and their lunch in St. James’s Park. Friday 27 September 2024 Year 5 visit Kew Gardens Although the weather at times was inclement, we still had a wonderful time exploring the beauty of Kew Gardens in London. Thank you to all of the parents for enabling this to happen. Educational visits are so memorable for years and years to come.As you all know, we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest and the children were commended on their knowledge which was brilliant to see! We visited the Glass House which simulated a mini rainforest which was full to the brim of amazingly special plants. We saw a Kapok Tree, tropical plants, banana and cacao trees, coffee plants and much much more. We also explored the Hive and the Princess of Wales Conservatory. In English, the children are reading 'Journey to the River Sea' and some of the new vocabulary came to life today especially the giant lily pads. All photos have been uploaded onto Classdojo. Finally, a huge thank you to our parent helpers.

We saw birds and squirrels and found lots of interesting mini beasts which we studied with our magnifying glasses. We even saw some badgers’ setts but the badgers were asleep! We enjoyed our picnic lunch and the playground at the end was an added bonus! (Parents, I think they’ll sleep well tonight!) ??

Monday 9 September 2024 Griffin Library opens at Beaumont! The day has finally come! Our new library - The Griffin Library - has officially opened. We were very lucky that Mrs Shelley Davies, who is the Director of Croydon Education, opened up this new space in our school. The children, who raised the most money as well as read the most, accompanied our visitor along with some members of our board of governors. Mrs Ashton also came and represented FOBS who very kindly donated money towards the new library.Throughout the morning, each class came to visit and spend some time looking at books. I have attached some photos for you all to enjoy. Hopefully, the children will come home talking about how wonderful this library is.A final huge thank you to you all - including the children - for your wonderful donations and time. We are all thrilled with it and can't wait for the children to use it every week.Every parent will have the opportunity to visit Griffin Library after each class curriculum meeting. These dates can be found on our website.
